We are excited to host Sean Coyne of Divisions street’s Pizza Maria as our guest Pizzaiola for the month of April Pizza Social!  We have been scheming and collaborating on a special menu for this month inspired by Sean’s crazy pie making skills. Sean grew up in New York and sources his inspiration for pizza making from a neighbor named Maria. He fondly recalls his memories of her, “She was a remarkable cook and a generous soul; in a way she was a “local” grandmother. My mother would often tell me stories of Maria when as a toddler we would go to her house I would say “pizza” and she would start to make pizza from scratch”. Sean now has 18 years of baking under his belt. Previous to opening Pizza Maria, his Neapolitan inspired Mugnaini wood fired restaurant in the heart of Portland his ventures included working as lead baker at Thomas Keller’s famed Per Se,  New York’s legendary Sullivan Street Bakery, and Portland's Grand Central Bakery. Needless to say Sean is a huge talent and we are pumped to have him in our kitchen! In addition to our tradtional pies and entrees there will be a slew of special items created by Sean including a pie with spicy salami, caciocavallo, mint and pistachio pesto and to finish a rhubarb crostata, with vanilla bean ice cream with bee pollen. Not to mention some inspired cocktails shaken up by our bar master Nathanael, influeced by Sean’s spirit of choice, Gin! Sean will be with us in the restaurant tonight April 6th, come share a slice, drink and some good conversation with one of our favorite Pizzaiola's in town! Every Monday in April from 5 pm to close. Reservations accepted for parties of 6 or more. Sorry, we will not seat incomplete parties.
